Big Thanks to all my veg box customers & to all the folks who attended Vegan Vybes Market on Sunday, check out the link for more upcoming events.
We are entering a period known as the 'Hungry Gap', which means suppliers must start to look further afield to procure many of the items that have been supplied by British farmers. Inevitably with transport costs & exchange rates to be taken into account, this means higher prices. There are still British Potatoes, Carrots, Onions & Beetroot, but that's it, all else is coming from Europe & further afield. We do have English Purple Sprouting Broccoli & Asparagus to look forward to though! I'd be interested to know what would people feel about the idea of leaving Apples off the shopping list for a few months (until August) when the European crop availability ceases, as there are other fruits available during the Summer months?
A welcome return to Stirchley Community Market (albeit the pesky snow may still scupper us! Shush! ) Tuesday 3rd April - 4-8pm. I'll be featuring my expanded range of vegan organic wholefoods too! Adding more depth to what is on offer at the market!
